It was 2004, my first year working at Bestswimwear. Back then, we were still called Beachy Keen Bay. One of the very first things I bought with my employee discount was a sleek black underwire bikini top. Even in the early 2000s, it felt effortlessly '90s. Think Carolyn Bessette: clean lines, over-the-shoulder straps, unpadded support, sporty in the best way, and just the right amount of sexy.

I wore that top for years.

So when we sat down to design the 2026 Bestswimwear collection, I brought it with me. I'm not kidding when I say the Hardwired Top was pulled straight from the vault, our store archives, and my overflowing bikini drawer. We kept everything we loved about the original silhouette and refined it for today, adding thoughtful updates like adjustable straps and a sliding back closure for an even better fit.

Before trends came and went every season, there were swimsuits you reached for summer after summer. The Hardwired Top is our modern take on one of those classics.

Some colors channel the effortless cool of a Cindy Crawford summer. Somewhere, a Pepsi can just cracked open. Others feel like they could have been dog-eared favorites in my Delia's catalog. No matter which you choose, the feeling is the same: nostalgic, uncomplicated, and proof that great design never goes out of style.

More than twenty years later, I still find myself reaching for that same silhouette. The only difference? Now it's even better.
